Led by area Member of Parliament Alice Ng’ang’a who was accompanied by Kiambu MP Jude Njomo, Kikuyu MP Ichungwa Kimani, MCAs who all said that the demonstration was meant to awaken the county government from shoddy works and embezzlement of the public funds.

The young and the old business entrepreneurs availed to defend their rights across the street of Thika as the new OCPD Francis Muthamia vigilant in maintaining law and order who was later lauded by the area legislator.

The song of the day, “Tumechoka Kunyanyaswa” was among the common statement of Thika residents who would stop at nothing but match up to the county hall to present their memorandum to the County Government administrator after senior officials chickened out and hid in the face of ten thousands determined Thikarians.

Kiambu MP Njomo said to the Thika sub county and Kiambu county in general that the time has come for citizens to demand their rights if not given freely and insisted, “Thikarians, No is a No, please take that to the bank.”

“We are all entitled to required and affordable business levies and various fees in the county and let no malicious leader take opportunity to suppress us; we are in the 21st century a democratic society where dictatorship is an act of barbaric for the savages,” retorted Ng’ang’a.

The peaceful demonstration came to an end with a style after Kabete aspirant Ferdinand Waititu revealed through the phone of Ichungwa Kimani that he is coming for the gubernatorial seat and such problems will be a tale to remember during his regime since the people of Kiambu have decided that the seat is vacant.

“My fellow citizens, the troubles and tribulations you are experiencing is only for a while, the governor seat is empty and ‘Baba Yao’ is determined to occupy the position, just have hope and hold on since Kiambu leaders have not forgotten you,” Waititu said.
