Kiambu electorates have expressed their dissatisfaction with the endless squabbles and political bickering that have dogged the county since the county government came into place in 2013.

Through a group known as ‘Uongozi Bora’, led by Paul Ngotho and Lucy Muthoni, the electorates want the rift between Governor William Kabogo, MCAs and MPs to come to an end immediately.

They say that the disagreements and disunity among the elected leaders have affected service delivery in a big way.

“The governor needs to come down and listen to his fellow leaders. MCAs must respect the governor and vice versa. The MPs must stand to unite everyone and not undermine the county leadership,” said Ngotho.

Ngotho's sentiments were echoed by her colleague Lucy Muthoni.

“We demand that these leaders end these wrangles because we the electorates are the ones losing out. Every elected leader in the county must do their work and leave their colleagues alone,” said Muthoni.

The two were speaking in Kiambu Town on Monday during a forum that the group had convened to discuss various issues affecting the county.
