Kiambu Matatu Sacco manger Joseph Kuria has urged drivers and touts plying Nairobi-Kiambu route to embrace team work.
Speaking in Kiambu Town, Kuria said teamwork will help to enhance the efficiency of services provided to commuters in the area.
Kuria said wrangles between drivers and touts make it hard for the two to deliver as expected and urged them to devise means of solving internal conflict without dragging them on their work place.
He attributed these wrangles to egoistic drivers who undermine their touts feeling that their job is better off.
“A driver without a conductor will do a double job and this will be burdensome to him,” notes Kuria.
The manager condemned despising of new employees who may not be effective in their job. He urged them to be patient with one another.
Dorothy Nyambura, a tout in matatus plying the area revealed that a good relationship with a driver is key in making the job efficient.
She recounted a time when she worked with a new driver; Nyambura says despite being frustrated, she had to be patient with him.
