Kiambu County nominated MCA Susan Wanjiku has opposed a bill set to introduce reproductive health care education in Kenyan schools curriculum.
Wanjiku said such education will expose children to sex matters at a tender age leading them to engage in irresponsible sexual activities.
The MCA who was speaking in a church at Ting'ang'a in Kiambu on Sunday also opposed the proposed move to issue contraceptives to school-going children.
"I am totally opposed to the issue of reproductive education and contraceptives in our schools. We as parents can play our role in teaching our children about these matters at home," said Wanjiku.
She added that the church has a role to play in inculcating good morals in children which will eliminate the need to have such education introduced in schools.
Wanjiku also appealed to the church to pray for the leaders saying that they need divine intervention to be able to make good legislations that do not compromise the country's morality.
"We are a God fearing nation and even our laws should reflect that," she said.
