As President Uhuru Kenyatta appears at the ICC, The Hague today, a section of Kiambu County MCAs have lauded his move to temporarily hand over his presidential powers William Ruto.

Led by the assembly speaker David Gathii Irungu, the MCAs said the President has shown the world that he is a patriotic citizen.

"We are happy that he accepted and obeyed the summons to show them that he is innocent and peace loving," the speaker said.

Thika Township Ward MCA Kennedy Mwangi Kimani said that the President was right in all the decisions he made.

"He has impressed in his decisions and that is why we are proud to be behind him. Everyone is happy about our President," he said.

They were speaking at a press briefing in Thika Town where the residents had gathered to hear from their county leaders.

MCAs Mwangi Wamwangi from Hospital Ward and Witeithie’s Peter Muiruri were also in attendance.
