Kiambu town MP Jude Njomo has donated revision papers, books, geometrical sets, pens and among other stationeries to standard eight students in public primary schools within the constituency.

Speaking when he donated revision papers and books to class eight students at Thidigua Primary school in Kiambu on Friday, Njomo said that he is determined to improve education standards in the constituency.

Njomo observed that most students sitting for national examinations perform poorly because they lack adequate revision material.

“This is just one of the initiatives I am taking to boost education performance across Kiambu constituency,” he said.

The lawmaker noted that many students in primary schools in the area come from poor backgrounds and cannot afford to buy revision papers and other material needed for examinations.

Njomo said that education standards in the constituency will go up if students are given ample time and resources to prepare for examinations.

The MP said that the initiative will be supported by the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and will target all schools in the constituency.

Njomo said that education remains the key that can unlock many social and economic problems facing the society.

The MP urged the national and county government to invest more in education and make it accessible to all Kenyans.

He also urged the Kiambu government to increase budgetary allocations to the education docket.

The Kiambu town MP said that increasing allocations will see needy but bright student’s access quality education.
