The Kiambu OCPD has raised concern over the increased cases of defilement in the region in the recent past. Speaking in his office today, the OCPD SSP Stephen Ng’etich said that defilement cases in the region had gone high. He mentioned that every week, there are reports of defilement cases reported. The police boss said that defilement is a serious crime and men should avoid being caught in such crimes.

He added that most of the men involved in these cases are being ignorant of the law knowing that touching a minor is against the law.

However he said that school going children are dropping out of school for early marriages and pregnancies because of men who lie to these children The OCPD explained that it was painful for parents whose children are being defiled as they are struggling to educate these children to get the best out of them.

He added that no parent should keep quiet or be bribed not to mention such a case as it deserves to be punishable by law if they are involved in it. “I send a warning to those men who are busy trying to lure minors to sexual desires that they will be brought to book and will face the wrath of the law. Parents if you suspect anything, report to the authorities and we will do our investigations accordingly,” said the OCPD.
