Kiambu OCPD Stephen Ng'etich has promised to beef up security in the area following a series of burglary cases in the area.
Speaking in his office on Thursday, the OCPD said that he has been informed about the burglary cases that have sprung up lately, and he is working to enhace security.
The police boss cited few of these incidences, mentioning Moses Mwangi, a victim of burglary incident in Kirigiti whose house was raided in two days ago and property worth sh 8000 were stolen.
He said the matter was reported a day after and investigations are still underway to make the culprits face the full force of the law.
The OCPD also singled out Susan Mwihaki case where a house was broken into at night and television set worth Sh25,000 was stolen.
Luckily,she was swift enough to report the matter at Kiambu police station and the robbers were apprehended.
Ng'etich said that he will ensure the state of security in the area go back to normal.
"These patrols will help reduce the burglary menace in the area and bring back the tranquillity the area residents were used to before,” said Ng’etich.
He further called for cooperation among the residents in the fight against insecurity on the area.
"I urge the residents to cooperate and work together with the police officers by providing useful information that will lead to arrest of criminals," said Ngetich.
While concluding, Ngetich called upon the residents to continue embracing Nyumba Kumi Initiative in an effort to reduce Insecurity cases.
He said the initiative had proven to be effective earlier till recently when the burglary cases erupted.
