Kiambu police boss Mr Stephene ngetich  has lauded the residents for their relentless support for the community policing and the nyumba kumi initiative saying that they have helped the police be able to fight crime in the area

Speaking to the  press on Thursday morning, the officer  confirmed that police within the entire Kiambu region have received tremendous support from the people through community policing units.

“I wish to commend every resident who have contributed to the success of the peace we have here in kiambu, we have witnessed minimal instances of crime; and for this, I wish to commend the public,” the officer said

According to the officer Community Policing has helped the police fight crimes before they actually happen which has been rated as an achievement taking into consideration that, Kiambu is one of the counties that are prone to criminal attacks due to its proximity to the Capital City of Kenya, Nairobi.

He further revealled that the public through community policing has continued to share crucial information with the police and that is what has led to very minimal cases of crime being reported, although he cited that there is an increase in petty theft incidences, which he hypothetically attributed to the prevailing weather conditions-dry spell
