Police will not tolerate any form of crime during this festive season, Kiambu deputy police boss Johnstone Lyambila has said.

The police boss told journalists on Thursday that effective policies have been put in place to deal with law-breakers this festive season.

He said that more patrols will be conducted across Kiambu County with the aim of arresting and prosecuting criminals.

“We want to tell those planning to cause havoc and disrupt peace that we are prepared for them,” he said.

Mr Lyambila appealed to residents to report any from of crime immediately to enable the police handle it adding that the public remains key to the fight against crime and that they must supplement police efforts.

The police boss said that they will remain on alert adding that youth should refrain from activities that will disrupt peace.

Mr Lyambila asked parents to monitor the activities of their children who are on holiday stating that most of them take advantage of the holiday to engage in unlawful activities such as drug abuse and prostitution.
