Kiambu County commissioner has called on police in the area to work round the clock and apprehend a thug who has reportedly been harassing Ndumberi residents.
Speaking on Monday during the Madaraka Day celebrations held at Ndumberi playground, Esther Maina told the police to apprehend the thug, saying such a person who was geared to inflicting violence on innocent people must not be allowed to roam among residents.
The county commissioner said the government will not relent in protecting the residents saying all officers entrusted with security must provide the service at all times without fear or intimidation.
Maina urged the residents to co-exist peacefully, saying the county was cosmopolitan and all the residents should cooperate to expose all those who engaged in evil and criminal activities.
On the same note, Kiambu governor William Kabogo said that the people needed peace to enable them build the nation.
Kabogo said there was need for all security apparatus to work as a team and include people in the affected area as they could positively identify the suspect so that he is arrested and prosecuted in a court of law.
He further said that Kiambu would not tolerate hooligans who distract peace-loving Kenyans from developing their region.
