Police in Kiambu have netted more than 2,000 stones of bhang with a street value of Sh1 million.

According to officers, the bhang was being transported from Tanzania.

They were in a saloon car with two occupants identified as Aggrey Otieno and Alex Onyango.

The officers said the suspects were on their way to Kasarani when they were apprehended.

County commander Adiel Nyange while confirming the Tuesday incident said that other people in a probox car escaped.

"The saloon car's rear window opened at a bump and some of the stones of bhang in it fell out," the police boss said on Wednesday.

"The bhang is believed to have passed through Isibania border."
