Speaking during the mass held in Murang'a on Thursday, Kenyatta said that he will continue working with opposition leader Raila Odinga to build political bridges that will ensure Kenyans continue enjoying peace and unity devoid of hate, division and ethnicity.

The head of state further defended the handshake with the opposition chief saying it had nothing to do with the 2022 politics as many have misinterpreted.

However, speech by the President is being perceived to be sidelining his deputy, William Ruto, who is much concerned with 2022 elections.

Some social media users in Kiambu County Facebook social groups are reacting differently.

These are some of the reactions:

Jane Waithes -"Aacha kelele Uhuru kura yake ni moja tu. zetu tunazo. Ruto al the way"

Michae Mwangi - "Handshake is for 2 pple only."

Rosa Omosh - "I hate vigeugeu with a passion. Ruto hadi mwisho"

Felix Wanjohi - "Raila has never threatened to evict anyone from Kisumu or Eldoret if the votes don't go his way, he never burnt any Christian taking refuge in a church, he never a soloist of a war song..."

Hajaj Jajah - "Watu wanasema wata vote Ruto must know their work is to vote and go home, those who count the votes are the ones who determine the winner, if they are not with Ruto, Ruto will go to Sugoi na ikizidi hata kesi ya ICC itafunguliwa ajikute huko."

Henry Okemo Omtatah - "Ruto didn't Make Uhuru President, thank IEBC and particularly Chiloba. With a Firm and Transparent IEBC that can't be compromised, and with UNISON of Uhuru and Raila, Ruto should forget the Presidency."
