Ansel Pharmaceutical CEO Josphat Karanja has donated 74 garbage bins to the Kiambu County government as a way of keeping Kiambu clean.
The county Health CeC Jonah Mwangi has said that the bins will be distributed to the 60 Wards is to help the county achieve its desire of making Kiambu clean and admirable.
Karanja said that his organisation has the mandate and responsibility to give back to the community and the donation of the bins is just a token of appreciation for the support given to them.
He said that he will work hand in hand with the government to ensure that the residents have fully benefited from the medical services established in the county.
According to CeC Mwangi who was speaking on Tuesday in Thika town, the garbage bins will be mostly distributed to the government Hospitals to help tame poor hygiene which he says is rampant in such places.
Mwangi expressed his concerns with the increase number of poor health conditions due to dirt and lack of cleanliness saying the bins will greatly boost the health status of the county. He urged the area residents to eat healthy foods and shun food from street vendors without licences.
He vowed that in partnership with the county government, he will launch a crack down to apprehend those vendors who do not have licenses and sell food to the people putting their life at risk.
However, Mwangi extended his gratitude to the Ansel Pharmaceuticals for donating the bins saying that Kiambu needs working business men to help the county move forward.
The event was graced by the Kiambu County governor William Kabogo.
