Residents of Ngehu village in the outskirts of Kiambu town demonstrated their love for orphans and less privileged children in the society, by donating massive unused clothes to them.
The donations, which involved clothes and shoes is meant to be distributed to various children homes in the sub-county, which is believed to be a great initiative by the residents.
Area Member of Parliament Jude Njomo said he was overwhelmed by the good deed of the residents, terming it as brotherhood in nature for the Kenyans for Kenya.
“I never knew the people of Kiambu have a very good heart to help and support the fellow residents, it is an act of brotherhood and am humbled,” said the MP.
The legislator said that the clothes will be distributed in the course of the week, and has called on other gifts to be availed in the weekly course.
The lawmaker has also called on well-wishers to come out in helping the less privileged in the society, to help save Kenyans towards achieving vision 2030.
He has however hailed Thika member of Parliament Alice Ng’ang’a for her initiative to help the needy in terms of bursary, after the MP, through Thika Education Trust Fund disbursed Sh18 million.
The MP revealed that he will be availing the donation to children’s home at least twice a year, to help Kenyans who also need support, and has urged other leaders to follow suit in helping the people who elected them into office.
