Briefing the press at his office on Friday, Mr Mwangi said that NHIF contributions will help contributors access medical care at all times.

He said that contribution rates have been varied to ensure that every resident has a chance to contribute.

Mwangi said that many residents in the county are not contributing to the fund a situation he blamed on lack of sensitisation.

“The good thing with NHIF is it guarantees you medical care at any time. Kiambu residents should therefore register with the Fund so that they can have better access to healthcare,” he said.

The executive noted that contributors are catered for all their health issues. He said the county government is liaising with NHIF officials to sensitise Kiambu residents on the fund.

Meanwhile, the health executive has said that the county is working on policies that will promote the welfare of doctors and nurses.

“To curb strikes and go-slows that slow down service delivery in the health sector and other sectors in the county, we are in the process of formulating policies that will address workers concerns,” he said.
