This writer took to the streets to interact with residents of Kiambu County and get their opinion on who they think will clinch the country's top seat in the 2022 general election.

We captured only the first names and ages of the respondents for security purposes. Here is what they had to say:

Wangeci, 45: I prefer Wiliam Ruto. He has supported Uhuru for the two terms and deserves a chance to lead in 2022.

Matu, 28: I support Gideon Moi. It's simple logic. Kenyatta was the first President and now his son Uhuru, Moi was second President and his son Gideon should take over from Uhuru.

Kimani, 32: I want Gideon Moi to win in 2022. He is reserved and being the son of a president, he can make a good president like his father.

Lucy, 24: I really want Raila to vie again in 2022 and this time he will win. He has made peace with all his political enemies and his unity with President Uhuru Kenyatta is a straight ticket to State House.

Muchiri, 39: Ruto is my man. He is a man who has worked his way to the top and supported us and now we want to return a hand in 2022.

Steve, 26: Hassan Joho is the real deal. I want ODM to endorse him as their presidential candidate in 2022 and we take him all the way to State House.

Njambi, 55: The Deputy President William Ruto. He has good leadership skills. He will have served as Deputy President for 10 years by 2022 and that is enough experience.

Ken, 36: I support Gideon Moi. He is a man of few words and he has stayed off scandals of corruption, theft and other vices.

Njoroge, 64: I want Raila Odinga. He has fought so much for this country and he deserves even one term as president. His reconciliation with President Uhuru, Moi and Kibaki is evidence enough that he is a good man.

Waithera, 21: I will vote for Governor Joho if he vies. I just like him and I know he can be a good President.
