On Tuesday, Kiambu residents turned out in large number for their first 2018 election in the county.
The residents voted for their representatives to the Alcoholic Drinks Control Committee.
Governor Waititu initiated the committee in each and every Sub County to aid his government's fight, to end alcohol and other drugs abuse in the county.
The elections took place at various places across the county, including Ndumberi Grounds and Premier Grounds, where election of representatives to the Juja Sub County Alcoholic Drinks Control Committee took place.
In Thika sub-county, the election was conducted at Thika Stadium where representatives to the Thika Sub County Alcoholic Drinks Control Committee were elected while in Ruiru sub-county it was held at Ruiru Stadium where representatives to the Ruiru Sub County Alcoholic Drinks Control Committee were elected.
Governor Waititu spent most of his day moving around the county to oversee how the elections were being conducted.
"This afternoon at Thika Stadium where I was overseeing the election of Representatives to the Thika Sub County Alcoholic Drinks Control Committee.
"At Ndumberi Grounds, Kiambu County overseeing the election of Representatives to the Juja Sub County Alcoholic Drinks Control Committee," posted Governor Waititu, on his Facebook page.
It is, however, not yet clear if the representatives to the various committees will be taking 'something' home at the end of every month.
