Kahawa Wendani Member of County Assembly has advised the residents to get acquainted with their area administrators so as to report any security breaches.
Speaking on Thursday, area MCA, Michael Irungu Waweru said that a large number of residents are not well acquainted with the area administrators and they do not know who to call for help when need arises.
He said that it is very important for the residents to know their chiefs’ names, phone numbers as well as the location of their offices so as to easily access them in times of emergencies.
The MCA added that they should also know the locations of the police stations so as to report any security threats to them and their neighbours.
He said that the administration offices are there for their service and the residents should not shy away from reporting anything or anyone they deem suspicious.
The MCA cited an incident where a man battered his wife almost to death as the neighbours’ efforts to stop him were futile and they did not have any contacts of the area chief who could have handled the situation.
He added that there are other emergencies that require rescuing and hence residents should have the area administrator’s phone numbers to notify them of such incidences.
He urged the residents to be well acquainted with the administrators to ensure that their problems are solved as quickly as possible.
