The Kiambu County government has set aside Sh30 million in its next financial year for a modern music studio, County Youth Affairs executive Michael Waikenda has confirmed.

Briefing the media at his Thika office on Tuesday, Waikenda said that the Sh30 million budgetary allocation has been approved by the finance committee ready for debate in the assembly.

The executive said that the approval will enable the county to start procurement process as they wait for the money.

“Our dreams and ambitions of having a modern music studio established in Kiambu are on course. The studio will be housed in Kiambu town,” he said.

Waikenda said Kiambu has talent mostly in music and the county will want to tap and promote it.

He said that once establish, the studio will link Kiambu artists to the rest of the world.

Waikenda said, “There is money in music and urged county youths to take their talents seriously. The executive said that talent growth in other sectors will be nurtured and promoted.”

He said that with the rising unemployment, it will be better if youths explored their talents to earn livelihoods.
