Kiambu County will soon launch a farm products processing system to benefit the farmers in the different regions of the county, Agriculture CeC Monicah Waiganjo says.
Through a message sent to the media by her representative during the Graduation Ceremony for QSM and Associates today at Thika KARI Grounds, Madam Mukami has said that the Kiambu government values farming and thus they have plans to benefit anyone willing to venture into it.
She added that Kiambu has been linked with numerous processors who are willing to put across processing firms in the county.
The CeC insisted on the Potato and banana farmers, saying that they will launch a potato healing firm son in the region.
“We are fully concerned with our farmers as they have been feeding us for long time and they are still doing. We have plans underway to put across equipment for the farmers to be in a good position to process products affordably,” the CeC said.
“We have set aside funds as a docket of Agriculture for our farmers to benefit and we are sure they will smile soon as we sort out where to place the firms,” she added.
Her sentiments were echoed closely by Haron Njenga who represented Equity Bank in the event saying that the bank is dedicated to offer cheap loans to farmers to enhance their activities.
