County Finance Executive Mary Nguli says the Sh11.49 billion budget estimate is ready for debate.

Briefing journalists at her office yesterday, Nguli said her ministry has finalised allocations to various dockets which are ready for debate and scrutiny.

“We are ready to have the budget allocations debated before passage in June,” she said.

Nguli noted that Sh4 billion out of the Sh11.9 billion will go to development while Sh7.7 billion has been allocated for recurrent expenditure.

She added that the transport and infrastructure sector will get the lion’s share of the budget with Sh1.3 billion allocated to it. Other sectors to get more funding are health, education and youth dockets.

“The county has also finalised plans to conduct public awareness on the budgetary proposals. The forums will be organised to get public opinions on the budget before it is passed,” Nguli said.
