Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni wa Muchomba has told politicians to focus on development and stop the hype on 2022 politics.
Speaking over the weekend, the vocal legislator urged his counterparts to shun debate on 2022 politics and focus on delivering development services they promised Kenyans during 2017 elections.
She noted that Kiambu leaders will be judged from the work they have done and not how much talk they did.
"Some leaders in Kiambu have announced the leaders they would support in the 2022 election. They said they want to back a candidate who will form the next government.Kenyans are tired of politics and empty rhetoric. It is too early to take positions for another election. Let us build the nation,” she stated.
Wa Muchomba's message came hot on the heels of the 2022 political debate where a section of leaders have already endorsed Deputy President William Ruto as their preferred Presdental candidate.
The legislator urged fellow leaders to team up and support tPresident Uhuru Kenyatta on his Big Four agenda.
“Uhuru is the President until his term ends. Let us respect him and support his plan to transform the country,” she said.
