In a bid to curb unemployment among the youths, the Kiambu sub-county youth officer has called upon youths in the area to attend an entrepreneurial training session from Monday to Wednesday this week.
Speaking in her office today, Charity Githinji said that the seminar is aimed at educating the youths on how to be successful entrepreneurs.
She added that the seminar was programmed by the youth’s office in the area to enable youths gain the knowledge to run their businesses.
The Youth officer further explained that most youths and even residents in the area lacked the skills of entrepreneurship hence closing down businesses claiming that business is not meant for them.
Githinji added that through this programme, residents would gain the necessary knowledge to be successful entrepreneurs.
“I urge all the youths in the region to come out at Ndumberi grounds next week where we are going to help them acquire the necessary skills needed to run businesses,” said the officer.
She however pointed out that the programme was open to any other resident in the area who may be interested or are in business.
She explained that self employment among youths is going to enable them gain a positive attitude towards life as most of those who are jobless end up in criminal activities.
