Kiambu Agriculture and Livestock CeC Dr Monica Waiganjo has challenged youth in the area to use the Uwezo and Biashara Funds being given to them by the government to start farming ventures.

Speaking on Friday at Thika Town, Dr Waiganjo said that youth stand to benefit by reaping profits if they venture into farming.

The Kiambu Agriculture CeC said farming is a profitable investment adding that it is time young people took farming seriously.

Dr Waiganjo said that farming is a diverse field and youth can select a particular area that fits their interests.

“Young people should stop looking at farming as work done by old and desperate people. Youth across the world are reaping big from farming,” she said.

She said the county has a conducive environment and climate that supports all kinds of farming.
