“Young people should be brought up in religious ways to create meaningful impact in their lives,” said Njoya.

Speaking while opening a four-day youth convention Njoya called on youths to involve themselves in religious matters and abandon crimes.

“Youths should be ready to be brought up in religious matters to ensure they are free from corrupt world,” said Njoya.

The clergy said that youths are the pillars of any society and their attitudes should reflect African values.

He however urged youth to abandon western culture which is eroding African culture.

The convention is being attended by over 200 youths from different parts of the county.

James Mungai ,17, says that he came to the convention to seek spiritual nourishment.

“The church is the centre of spiritual nourishment and there is need for more youth to join this convention,” said Mungai.
