Addressing the youth on Tuesday, Michael Irungu Waweru said that it is high time that they put their energetic bodies and innovative brains to work.

He said that many youths tend to stay idle and as a result they end up getting into drug and substance abuse as well as getting involved with gangs that mug residents.

The MCA said that he too was once unemployed but he worked hard and did not fear going to different offices to ask for jobs.

He added that there are many businesses that the youths can venture in including becoming bodaboda operators using hired motorcycles.

“Kazi ni Kazi and do not let anyone despise a job that is legal and earns you an honest living,” said the MCA.

He said that being idle and satisfied when doing nothing is wrong as there are many opportunities that are presented to the youth and hence they should maximise on them.

He urged them to form groups so as to apply for the Uwezo Fund that is at their disposal so as to start small businesses for themselves.
