A class six pupil in Kiambu county has been charged with stealing Sh407, 700 from a bank account.
The minor was before Kiambu’s chief magistrate Patricia Gichohi on Friday.
The suspect, together with two accomplices, were charged of stealing the amount from a bank account in Kiambu between January 28 and February through multiple cash transfers.
The prosecution told the court the boy mastered his grandfather’s bank account pin number which he used to siphon all the cash.
The victim has visited the bank to make a withdrawal when he realized his account had been ‘washed clean’.
Investigations traced the phone number used to transfer the funds to the grandson.
The boy told investigators he used the cash to buy food, electronics among other items.
He also splashed a good amount on his hood’s football team where he is a player by buying them brand new uniform.
The suspects did not take plea as the court ordered for an age assessment.
