Kiandutu expectant women have been urged to seek medical advices during early pregnancies to avoid complication of child bearing during delivering.

According to James Mwangi the chairman of Kiandutu Outreach Project (KOP) who was speaking on Monday during the launched of malnourished children program he said that cases of complication during child bearing has been on rampant in Kiandutu at it was a high time measure to be put in place.

He said that slum dwellers women have minimum knowledge of child bearing and thus many end up losing their children due to poor medical checkup of the pregnancy. 

“Many slum dwellers lose their young ones due to lack of medical checkup at early stages of pregnancies which is very vital,” said Mwangi

Mwangi said that many slum dwellers especially Kiandutu slums many women give birth at their homesteads thus risk taking in deaths of the child and the mother.

He has called to the Kiambu county Health CeC Jonah Mwangi to come out handy and put to books midwives who have no experience in child delivering to save the future generation in line with vision 2030.

He noted that poor hygiene of mothers greatly affect children who have low immune system and thus advocated parents and guardians to enhance cleanliness at their homesteads.

The KOP chairman challenged the Kiandutu pregnant women to consult medical check up at all times and bear good fruits of healthy child who will be malnourished free.

He has vowed to sensitize expectant mothers on importance of medical check ups to avoid such cases recurring in the area.
