Farmers in Kiandutu slums have been encouraged to grow more cabbages in plenty as a way of ensuring that they have regular food.
Posting on Thika republic Facebook page on Monday, Julia Moha a Farmer in the area, said that they have well grown cabbages but lack pesticides.
"Cabbage remains among the most reliable foodcrop for Thika citizens .Our Farms are already green with maturing cabbages but pest remain a problem,"Juliah posted.
The green cabbages in the farms look green giving another a different picture of the famous kiandutu slums.
"Good workwork! Lead by example and prove that it's easy to get gold out of a slum.,""Mugure Felista said.
"I would urge all farmers who have idle land in Kiandutu to instead use it to grow more crops to ensure it is in regular supply,” Geoge Kuria posted.
Mureithi Joash at the same time cautioned farmers against leaving foodcrops to grow without proper treatment and care saying it would not be good for human consumption.
