Kianjau women in Kiandutu village, Thika Township Ward have this morning been served with relief food by the area MCA Kennedy Mwangi after raising concerns of going without food to the county government for months now.
MCA Mwangi said that he saw it right to serve the residents who are mostly poor and less privileged with the little relief food since he has been receiving calls from the area leaders who are concerned with the challenges encountered by the people living in Kianjau area.
He added that he was forced to ask for help from friends and well wishers as he was not prepared for such a challenge which has never been encountered in the area before.
Mwangi stated that he will fast track the governor’s efforts to support the drought-hit residents as he had promised earlier now that he has got the same problem in his area saying he is sure of getting help sooner.
The MCA has called on the public to remain calm and spend wisely especially at this hard time when they are waiting for the rains to start farming which has been sustaining them with food.
“Let us consume the little we have considerably and wisely to avoid starving like experienced in some parts of the country. I am sure we will get help soon from our county government and so we do not have to fear much,” consoled Mwangi.
He has vowed to ensure that no one starves in his Ward despite the calamity in the area at the moment.
