Former Othaya MP Mary Wambui has gone public that retired president Mwai Kibaki is her husband.
There have been rife speculations all through that Wambui was having an affair with Kibaki, something that used to give former First Lady the late Lucy Kibaki sleepless nights.
At one point, Lucy 'frogmarched' Kibaki to a press address to tell the worl that 'he had only one wife'.
Speaking during an interview with Sunday Magazine, Wambui said sshe met the former president long time ago.
“I met Kibaki a long time ago in Nanyuki, through his cousin who lived there. Also our paths crossed because I was a teacher and I would accompany the children to perform for the bigwigs during functions. Kibaki was a government minister then,” she said.
She added: “He was an OK guy. He was doing things to help people. He paid school fees for many students. That impressed me. I like someone who can help strangers.”
