Former president Mwai Kibaki has eulogised the ex-Finance Minister David Mwiraria.
Mwiraria died, Thursday, at Karen Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
The 79-old, served in Kibaki’s regime.
In his condolence message, Kibaki described Mwiraria as a diligent and humble public servant.
“He was a trusted friend. His diligence, humility and forthrightness were rare, even epic. And so was his ability to rally people of diverse persuasion to a common cause. The late commanded respect to across the board effortlessly,” said Kibaki in a statement.
“Kenya has lost an illustrious public servant whose focus was on delivering the best for the good of all. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” he added.
Other leaders who have also mourned Mwiraria include president Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.
