Former president Mwai Kibaki was among hundreds of passengers that were stranded at the Kisumu International Airport, Saturday.
This is after Kenya Airway's domestic flights were delayed for hours.
Kibaki was on his way to Nairobi after attending a function at Masinde Muliro University of science and Technology (MMUST) in Kakamega County.
The delays, experienced also at the Jomo kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), saw him depart midday, instead of around 10am.
However, Kisumu County Commissioner Mohammed Maalim dismissed claims Kibaki's flight delayed, saying he departed at the scheduled time.
