Two Ex – MPs who worked closely with President Mwai Kibaki have been lined up for top seats in Nyamira County Assembly.

Governor John Nyagarama is set to unveil his project team by Friday and it’s understood that most of nominees to County Executive Committees are newcomers.

A source privy to the operations within the county government intimates that former Kitutu Masaba MP Mwancha Okioma and his North Mugirango counterpart Winfred Ombui are among those considered.

“It has been finalized and we are set to see Okioma and Ombui in the lineup,” said the source, who spoke in confidence.

The source further said:”The names were arrived at after thorough consultation and there experience in public survives was mostly considered.”

While Okioma served in African parliament in Johannesburg after an appointment by Kibaki, Ombui was appointed as an assistant minister during the grand coalition.

Okioma ran for governorship position while Ombui unsuccessfully vied for North Mugirango parliamentary seat. It is not yet clear the dockets they are set to hold.
