Monday evening saw property worth thousands of shillings go up in flames after a fire gutted down the premises in Kibera.
Confirming the incident to the press, area chief, Jonathan Mutoro, said the fire was said to have started a few minutes after 7 pm in the evening, razing down the house and adjacent.
''The fire razed down eight houses in that area next to Jaboi Hardware and retail houses, destroying property worth thousands,'' said the local administrator.
Mutoro confirmed that no casualties had been reported from the evening incident, which left traders and area residents shocked. Preliminary investigations pointed out that the fire was due to an electrical fault. The local administrator has, however, asked members of the public to remain calm as security officers at Olympic Police Station investigate the incident.
