The inter-school exams competition which kicked off on Wednesday has been well received by pupils and teachers of Olympic Primary School in Kibera.

The exams are sponsored by Kibra MP Ken Okoth and the Constituency Development Fund, and are given freely to all primary schools in the region.

They are give to class seven pupils.

Having emerged top in the previous year’s competition, Olympic Primary head teacher Caleb Ochieng’ said he is confident he will maintain the position since his pupils have been prepared adequately.

“My pupils are well equipped and as their head, I am confident they will perform even better. They have revised properly and the teachers have also assured me they will pass, so I have no doubt about them,” said Ochieng’.

Olympic Primary is known in the region as the shining school which produces pupils with quality marks.

This has seen the scoop awards from area MP for their outstanding performance.

“We are targeting to produce the top ten pupils overall unlike last year where we produced the top six. The current class has been disciplined and loves reading. They have always been competing amongst themselves making it hard for one to maintain position one. I know they have a positive attitude towards the exams. All I want to tell them is that they are winners already,” he added.

Ochieng’ also thanked the CDF office for providing the exams.

He wished all schools the best of luck saying the competition is the only thing that will keep Kibera schools together.
