Local leaders have been urged to assist in reducing incidents of insecurity in Kibera, where they live to ensure that communities are responsible presided over accordingly.
Speaking on Thursday evening, Olympic Police OCS, Benter Ayemba, called upon the community to cooperate with officials with a common goal of managing security addresses so as to avoid incidents of attacks from criminal gangs. Ayemba said that the department has put in place special measures to see that the security is enhanced.
According to some residents, they are grateful that the department has put efforts to see that crime is reduced. They said they are willing to report to the relevant security stations and ask them to work with residents living there.
''There are cheaper on security especially at night when people are attacked. Now police are patrolling and the hooligan cases have reduced. We believe that the relevant departments will continue to flex their muscles and completely eradicate crime,'' said Dennis Otieno, a resident.
