With the Airtel's Trace Music Star activation competition getting to its second week, the event has now moved to interior residential areas in search of talents from gifted individuals.
Kibera having produced music icons and other celebrities in the entertainment industry has once again been left out in the ongoing talent search activations.
In the first week of the audition, activation activities happened in various residential of South C, South B, Highrise, Lang’ata, Kiserian, Baba Dogo, Rongai, Kariobangi and Huruma. This second week, the talent search has shifted to Kasarani, Githurai 44 and 45, Zimmerman, Kahawa Wendani and West, Roysambu and Gumba Estate. This was in an attempt to deliver to hopefuls a lifetime opportunity to become music stars by exposing their talents to the nation and even across the continent.
The Trace Music competition that commenced two weeks ago shall see the winner pocket a cool sh1.5 million at the Kenya finals and, thereafter, evidently qualifies to compete in the major grand finale event where the ultimate prize is a mentorship program with the multi-award winning American singer-songwriter and producer, Keri Hilson in Atlanta.
All participants need to do is call, sing and expect a possible win.
The news has not gone well for emerging Kibera artists but they are optimistic the communications provider will recognise them before the activations come to an end.
