Kibera residents on Monday send messages of condolences to the families of slain Kenya Defence Forces who were ambushed and killed in Somalia.
The news of the killing has come as shock to many Kenyans. Kibera residents on the other hand held prayers for the families of the slain soldiers.
Martin Wafula, a motorbike operator, said he was saddened by the deaths, adding that it was a big blow not only to the families who lost their young ones but to the nation at large.
‘I am sorry to the families of these heroes. If I were the president, I would have made sure their wives, for those who were married, get good jobs and their children receive free education. May they receive my condolences,’ said Wafula.
Enos Motari also condemned the attack and challenged the president to withdraw KDF soldiers from Somalia. ‘It is sad to let your own brother die in the name of protecting another country. Although the president has the final word, however, I urge him to let the soldiers come back home,’ he said.
Amina Ahmed had a touching message to the families of the slain heroes.
‘I am a wife, a mother and a sister to someone. This bond is so strong that I wish no one can cut it. It was so sad to learn of the death of these soldiers pray for their families that Allah will see you through cry with you. May God see you through and comfort you,’ said Amina.
