Residents of Kibera have come out strongly to object Koigi Wa Wamwere’s remarks that Fidel Odinga did not do anything to deserve having a road named after him.

According to Michael Morgan, a Kibera resident, the Nakuru politician is only jealous because his name is not and cannot be found on any street.

Another resident, Collins Barasa, said Koigi is a politician who is seeking publicity. He believes Koigi's remarks were just pure politics.

''I do not understand why everything should be politicised. If Joho named the road after Raila’s son it only shows how Joho and Raila relate. They are friends so it’s an honour,'' said Barasa.

Vincent Augustine, yet another resident, defended Joho saying he is in power and has every reason to name a road as he wishes.

''Koigi should learn to know how those in power rule. He should not keep on asking people in power why they do their own things. I want him to check his critics. He is from Nakuru. If a road is named in Mombasa what is his problem?'' questioned Vincent.

Residents in Kibera did not take the matter lightly as some of them argued that there are people who had roads named after them yet they had done completely nothing for this country.
