The event that happened at Olympic Primary School, foresaw the residents get money. 89 scholars were also among the beneficiaries. The money was given under the Elimu Kwanza initiative started by Okoth. The purpose of the initiative is education first, which helps children from the slum achieve their goals by sending them to school.

‘‘We believe that by providing education to the children, we empower them to transform their lives and that of the community,’’ said the parliamentary constituency liaison officer, Vincent Ayako.

Kibera is slowly transforming through the knowledge gained by the scholars who are transforming the state of the slum. More schools are also being built in the region to enable those who want to go to school to get an education.
