Kibera slum residents have been sternly warned against taking the law into their hands.
This is in relation to dealing with suspects as witnessed in a Tuesday afternoon incident that saw a man get burned.
Kibera sub-county deputy police commissioner, Nyamumbo Sese has faulted residents of Karanja estate for burning a suspected Mpesa thief during the commotion that rocked the area as youth protested against the arresting of opposition politicians on Tuesday morning.
"It was a very unfortunate for the irate youth to burn fellow human being. The law is very clear about how such incidents should be handled. Investigations have already been launched and the people behind the murder will be dealt with as per the laws of the land," stated Sese.
Speaking on Tuesday evening at his office, Sese hinted that the civilian police have already been deployed to the area to assess the situation and gather possible leads on the individuals involved in the criminal act.
