The deceased was believed to have been among a gang which attacked businesswoman who was taking her money to Equity Bank.

Police launched investigations on the matter and have since arrested one suspect who flew the wrath of the angry mob. The suspect has been identified as a rogue police officer attached to Mandera Police Station and had deserted duty.

‘'Constable Musungu Buluma and another suspect who was later lynched, attacked Belinda Ondiko and robbed her of Sh490,000 which she was going to bank,’' confirmed Nairobi County police commander, Japheth Koome.

On Wednesday, Koome said senior officers in Mandera County headquarters on Wednesday confirmed that the officer was attached to the Mandera Police Station and that a warrant of arrest had been issued against him.

The man is also being accused of being in another gang of three men who terrorise residents in the slums.

Koome said it is alleged that Buluma, who was found with a pistol has been behind a series of robberies in Kibera.
