More than ten shops were on Monday morning razed down by a huge fire at Ayany area in Kibera.

It is suspected that the fire was caused by an electric fault. Residents of the area were, therefore, urged to be extra careful when using electric appliances.

The fire that started at 4 in the morning left many kiosk owners suffering losses as property worth thousands of shillings was burnt down.

No causalities were reported in the morning incident.

Efforts to speak to the owners of the destroyed property did not bare fruits as most of them focused on salvaging the little that was left from the inferno.
