Fifteen teachers drawn from various informal primary and secondary schools in Kibera had the opportunity to undergo a rigorous three weeks of intensive basic Information and technology skills for free. This is in courtesy of the Children of Kibera Foundation.

Children of Kibera Foundation has been at the forefront in engaging local and national educational stakeholders in ensuring the children get access to basic and quality learning. It is an organisation that is committed to empowering slum children with education as a way relieving them from choking poverty that is rampant in Nairobi slums.

The teacher training program is just one of the many initiatives that the Kibera Foundation has adopted to shape and fully empower local teachers so as to effectively attend to their learners.

Through its official Facebook page, the Children of Kibera on Tuesday thanked and congratulated the trained teachers for their willingness to get the computer literacy skills.

The foundation has so far trained over 45 teachers and is headed to train over 100 teachers in the entire Kibera slums.
