Speaking on Saturday morning, Simiyu said that his target audience are residents of Kibera and sometimes others who are not residents of Kibera.
“My main customers who buy chicken from me are those who love chicken. I sell the chicken at an affordable price. A hen costs between sh400 – sh700,” he said.
Simiyu stated that he buys chicks and rears them until they are mature for slaughtering.
He has been doing the business for over 5 years now and is still moving on well because the business is sustaining him to support his family and other expenses daily.
“I noticed that people go round the markets looking to get chicken and vegetables. I decided to start selling chicken only in the market and the business is thriving, I must say,” he concluded.
