Youths in Kibera received advice from church officials and Nairobi governor, Evans Kidero on Sunday.
The youths who came to see the governor at Kibera Church of God expected to milk money from him, however, that was not the case, they instead got a lecture on how to go about their lives.
‘‘Some of the youths are just idle and think they can be given money for just sitting and doing nothing. When we call for them to come and attend the service every Sunday, they usually refuse. Now they have seen the governor is around they think they will be given money,’’ said one of the church leaders.
The youths followed the governor hopeful that they would get money from him, however, Kidero advised them not to be waiting on money yet they have not worked for it but instead work hard in life to get their own money.
‘‘You should only wait for money if you have worked for it. If there is no work you have done, forget receiving money from me,’’ he said.
