Kibera residents have appealed to the area MP, Ken Okoth to help rehabilitate the local playgrounds.

The residents of Jericho Estate now want the field in Camp Toyoyo to be rehabilitated as the ongoing rains have rendered it unusable. The field has been flooded with water that has diverted its course due to blocked roadside tunnels hence landing on the field. Furthermore, the field has poor drainage systems and as raindrops fall, they remain stagnant in the field rendering the football pitch inaccessible.

In a further call of concern, the Woodley Field in Kibera is in a pathetic condition as well and local youths cannot access it to make their occasional recreational activities in the field.

The ongoing rains in Nairobi have caused a lot of inconveniences as people cannot get on with their daily duties as usual.

Kibera is among the worst hit areas in the city, a fact that has been attributed by the city's negligence on the area and poor planning.
