Kibos residents in Kisumu East Constituency have asked the county government and the police to enhance security in the area.
The resident complained of lack of police patrols in the area at night and also accused Kisumu County government of neglecting the area.
The residents raised issues such as high thuggery and theft in the area saying that the area is highly insecure from as early as 8pm.
Speaking on Tuesday evening, the angry residents also complained of being sidelined during budgeting by the county government.
Robert Olando, the area resident said that cases of insecurity in the area has tremendously risen.
“For the last eight years Kibos area has been highly insecure and the police are not doing anything about it.
The situation is getting worse since the suspected thugs know that there are no police patrols. As early as eight in the evening residents get attacked sustaining serious injuries,” explained Olando.
Maggie Owino, a vegetable vendor on her part asked the county government to deploy security officers to enhance security in the area.
“Our county government should come to our rescue by allocating funds towards the improvement of security in this area,” said Owino.
